One of the most common issues with regular IP cameras is that a person’s face becomes overexposed (washed out) when they approach the camera, making it difficult to identify them.

The MAG IP camera integrates Smart IR technology, which can adjust the intensity of the camera’s infrared LEDs to compensate for the object’s distance, preventing overexposure. This ensures that a face remains visible even when someone is within 3 meters of the camera. This capability allows you to capture useful video evidence if any incident occurs.

The images below compare the night vision performance of a MAG IP camera with Smart IR against a camera without this technology. Notice that when the person approaches the camera, their face remains visible with Smart IR, while it appears washed out on the camera without this technology.
